Panda (Nasarawa), April 10, 2019 (NAN) The Nasarawa State Local Government Service Commission has cautioned staff against truancy and absenteeism, saying that those caught would face severe sanctions.
Mr Sani Bawa, the Chairman, gave the charge on Wednesday, while addressing staff of Uke and Panda Development Area, in continuation of his tour of the areas.
He said that the call had become imperative considering the need for hard work and team work that would ensure the overall development of the councils.
The commission chairman said that the tour was meant to interact with local government staff members so as to listen to challenges facing them with the view to tackle same.
“This tour is very crucial to the development of not only the staff but to the development of the state at large.
“This is because it will afford the local government staff the opportunity to brainstorm on issues affecting them and on how to address such problems.
“I want to call on all of you to be productive in order to justify your take home pay. You must be dedicated to duties and be hardworking to contribute your quota to the development of the state.
“You are also advised to shun absenteeism, truancy and other sharp practices capable of affecting your productivity, your image and the image of the state.”
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), reports that some of the staff, who spoke during the interactive session, commended the commission for the visit, and assured members of their readiness to work hard.
