Anirah said he decided to settle the bill on Wednesday in Sapele when information got to him that the victim was financially handicapped to pay it.

The lawmaker, who spoke at Obule Medical Centre, Sapele, where the victim was receiving medical attention, cautioned that such protest was not the best way to attract government attention.

He advised that laid down procedures should be observed before embarking on any protest.

It was also gathered that the hospital bills of the other injured victims of the protest that were admitted at the Central Hospital, Sapele, had been taken care of by the Local Government Council Chairman, Mr Eugene Inoaghan.

Also, the people of the constituency had protested the extention of the lockdown by the state government due to the untold hardship being caused by the cononavirus. (NAN)
