Nasarawa Assembly screens, confirms 3 commissioner-nominees

Lafia, Feb.13, 2017(NAN) The Nasarawa State House of Assembly on Monday, screened and confirmed three out of the nine commissioner-nominees whose names were submitted by Gov.Tanko Al-Makura.
The Speaker of the House, Alhaji Ibrahim Balarabe-Abdullahi, made this known after three commissioner- nominees appeared for their screening in Lafia.
The nominees screened and confirmed were, Prof.Jonathan Yakubu, Jamil-Zakari and Tanko Zubairu from Akwanga, Awe and Doma Local Government Areas of the state.
Balarabe-Abdullahi urged the confirmed commissioners to use their experiences to add value to the development of the state.
He also urged them to be prudent and accountable in the management of the state’s resources to bring speedy development to the state.
The speaker reiterated the Assembly’s commitment to continue to enact laws that had direct bearing on the lives of the people of the state.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that on Feb.7, the House received the nomination of Prof.Jonathan Yakubu from Akwanga, Mary Enwongulu from Nassarawa Eggon and Alhaji Mohammed Jamil-Zakari from Awe.
Others are Bamaiyi Anangba from Kokona, and Tanko Zubairu from Doma Local Government Area, Wada Yahaya from Keffi and Dr Abdulkarim Kana from Kokona Local Government Area.
Also Ayuba Ayinaje from Toto and Abdulhamid Kwara from Wamba Local Government Area of the state made the list.
The screening of the remaining commissioner nominees continues from Feb. 14 to Feb. 15.(NAN)
