Dutse, May 21, 2019 (NAN) The National Cash Transfer Programme (NCTP) in Jigawa, has organised a three-day induction training for 112 newly employed Cash Transfer Facilitators (CTFs) in the state.

The programme coordinator, State Cash Transfer Unit, Alhaji Ibrahim Rabakaya, made this disclosure to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday in Dutse.

Rabakaya said the new CTFs were engaged in order to facilitate smooth cash transfer in the nine benefiting Local Government Areas of the state.

He added that they would join the already existing 100 facilitators to ensure quality, efficient and transparent cash transfer to the LGAs.

The coordinator pointed out that each facilitator was expected to cater for between 200 and 250 cash transfer beneficiaries in each ward of the benefiting LGAs.

According to him, more than 47,000 households are benefiting from the programme in Auyo, Kiyawa, Jahun, Miga, Kaugama, Guri, Taura, Roni and Gwiwa Local Government Areas.

Rabakaya revealed that over N3.8 billion had been paid to the benefiting households in the nine implementing LGAs since the commencement of the exercise in 2017.

“We have no fewer than 47,000 households in the social register as cash transfer beneficiaries.

“So far, over N3.8b has been paid to the beneficiaries in the nine implementing LGAs,” Rabakaya explained.

He added that  the programme would soon be extended to the remaining Local Government Areas of the state.  (NAN)
