Benin, March 19, 2020 (NAN) Prof. David Izekor, the newly appointed Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic) of the University of Benin (UNIBEN) has advised members of UNIBEN alumni to work more effectively to ensure the growth of the association.
Izekor gave the advice when members of the University of Benin Alumni Association, UNIBEN Branch, paid him a courtesy visit in his office on Thursday.
He said that the executive members of the association should identify other UNIBEN alumni and associate with them.
“I charge the executive members to device more effective but voluntary ways of getting more members to subscribe to the association.
“I also want to commend the association for the robust Christmas package being handed to members in spite of the relatively “little amount” that is paid as dues. Well done,’’ he said.
He thanked the Chairman and the other executive members for identifying with him on his recent appointment.
Dr Benson Esan, Chairman, University of Benin Alumni Association, promised to do his best to ensure that the association was developed.
“Your appointment was well received by the association not just because of your membership of the association but it has always been our yearnings to have alumni in key positions in the administration of our university.
“Your appointment is well deserved, taking into consideration your accomplishments in previous positions that you have held.
“We are indeed proud to associate with you and we are assuring you of our utmost support anytime you call on us”, he said.
He congratulated Prof. Izekor on his recent appointment and wished him the best in his new position. (NAN)
