NiMet predicts dust haze, partly cloudy weather on Friday

Abuja, Feb. 16, 2017 (NAN) The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted dust haze conditions with horizontal visibility range of one to three kilometres over the central States of the country on Friday.

NiMet made the prediction in its Weather Outlook by the Central Forecast Office in Abuja on Thursday.

It also predicted that the region would have day and night temperature of 29 to 37 degrees Celsius and 11 to 23 degrees Celsius, respectively.

The agency predicted that Southern states would experience partly cloudy morning over Lagos, Abeokuta, Ijebu-Ode, Yenagoa, Port-Harcourt, Eket and Calabar with day and Night temperatures of 34 to 37 and 19 to 26 degrees Celsius respectively.

It also predicted moderate dust haze conditions with horizontal visibility of two to five kilometres later in the day.

According to NiMet, Northern states will experience dust haze conditions with horizontal visibility range of one to three kilometres during the forecast period.

“Northern states will experience thick dust haze conditions also have day and night temperature values in the range of 30 to 36 and 16 to 22 degrees Celsius respectively.

“Dust haze conditions with poor visibility are expected to prevail over the North, Central and the Inland cities of the country in the next 24 hours,” NiMet predicted. (NAN)
