Plateau: LG boss mobilises security personnel to protect voters in crises-prone Attakar community

Riyom (Plateau) March 9, 2019(NAN) Mr Emmanuel Jugul, Chairman, Riyom Local Government Area, says he has mobilised reinforcement of security personnel to protect voters in crises-prone Attakar ward.

” We received reports of intimidation and immediately requested for more security personnels which was granted, ” he told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), on Saturday in Riyom.

He commended security officials for their quick response, saying that reports had confirmed that voters in the village were voting peacefully.

Jugul said that he had also mobilised vehicles to convey ad-hoc officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to Jamda, an interior community in the local government, as part of efforts toward a smooth conduct of the election exercise.

“Access to Jamda is very difficult; we had to arrange specially for materials to be conveyed there, ” he said.
