Salesmen docked for allegedly stealing crates of minerals

Lagos, May 10, 2019 (NAN) Two salesmen, Olumide Olubona and Sunny Cyril, who allegedly stole crates of minerals valued  N111,100, on Friday appeared before an Ebute Meta Magistrates’ Court in Lagos.
Olubona, 20, and Cyril, 18, are facing a three-count charge of conspiracy, stealing and conduct likely to cause breach of the peace.
The duo, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Earlier, the Prosecutor, Insp. Maria Dauda, had told the court that the defendants committed the offences on May 4, at 65b, Odaliki St., Ebute Meta, Lagos.
The prosecutor alleged that the defendants stole crates of minerals valued at N111, 100 from their employer, one Mr Yusuy Ahmed.
He said that the defendants could not account for the crates of soft drinks in their possession.
According to him, the offences contravened Sections 168, 287 and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The Magistrate, Mrs Monisola Ayinde, granted the duo bail in the sum of N100, 000 with two sureties each in like sum.
Ayinde adjourned the case until June 11 for mention. (NAN)
