Ile-Ife (Osun), Feb. 28, 2020 (NAN) An Ile-Ife Magistrates’ Court, on Friday, remanded one Ologuntoye Olalekan, 34, in Ile-Ife Nigerian Correctional Centre over alleged failure to remit N139, 580.00 sales funds.
The Prosecutor, Insp. Emmanuel Abdullahi, told the court that the defendants committed the offence on Feb 11, 2020 around 12:00 noon, at Ilesa Garage, Ile-Ife.
Abdullahi said that the defendants cheated one Bamigbose Michael, a Principal Agent for Golden Chance Lotto, by failing to remit sales funds amounting N139,580, to the owner.
He said that the defendant stole the sum of N139,580.00, property of one Bamigbose Michael, by converting same to his own use.
According to him, the offence contravenes Sections 390(9) and 421 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Osun, 2002.
The Defence Counsel, Mr Monday Gilbert, pleaded for the bail of the defendant in the most liberal term, promising that his client would not jump bail, but would provide reliable sureties.
The Magistrate, Mr Joseph Owolawi, did not, however, grant the defendant bail, but remanded him in the Nigerian Correctional Centre.
Owolawi, thereafter, adjourned the case till March 6, for hearing. (NAN)
