Ibadan, Feb. 25, 2017 (NAN) Remo Stars Football Club of Sagamu on Saturday forced hosts Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) to a 1-1 draw in a 2016/2017 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) fixture in Ibadan.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that 3SC scored through Sunday Faleye in the 25th minute of the Match Day 10 game at the Lekan Salami Stadium at Adamasingba.

The home team had dominated the visiting team in the first half of the game, but the Remo Stars fought back in the second half of the game.

They got the equaliser in the 52nd minute of the game through Ewelike Edozie.

3SC coach Fatai Amoo later told newsmen that the draw recorded could not be attributed to fatigue from the team’s consecutive visits to Katsina and Bauchi.

“That should be a peculiar problem. We cannot be over emphasising that. It is for us to see where we have not performed well and work on it.

“Unfortunately, we have been doing a lot of goal scoring exercises and training. It is not something that could pick up over night.

“It is unfortunate and unfortunate that we have people who have lots of passion for the game and this is a team we have to develop.

“Check these boys who are playing, apart from the back , all the boys from the midfield to the attack are from different teams and others too appreciate that,” he said.

Amoo said their focus now would be to see how they could win their next matches, saying any team could win irrespective of where it was playing.

Coach Fatai Osho of Remo Stars said his boys had played very well, adding that they lost the strength and domineering spirit in the game to the early goal conceded.

He described the performance as a turning point for the team, assuring that they would return home to build on it.

Osho, however, was optimistic that his team would pick the maximum three points from their next match, which is against Kano Pillars.(NAN)

Ibadan, Feb. 5, 2017 (NAN) Hosts Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) on Sunday in Ibadan defeated visiting Rivers United Football Club of Port Harcourt 2-1 in a 2016/2017 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) fixture.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Match Day 6 fixture was a tension-soaked match which saw the home team carry the day after several missed chances.

NAN reports that 3SC would have been six goals up in the first half but missed several goal scoring chances.

3SC had, 18 minutes into the game, secured their first goal through Faleye Sunday.

But the visiting side, from a counter-attack in the 25th minute, equalised through Lukman Mohammed’s header.

In the 66th minute of the game, Jide Apena however set the hosts on the winning path with 3SC’s second goal.

Coach Fatai Amoo later told newsmen that it was a great victory for the 3SC team, adding that they would work hard to sustain the tempo.

He said the team was getting it right, and that it was a gradual process that would lead to the desired height.

“We appreciate our teeming fans for their support and patience, and we promise them our best in the other matches ahead,’’ the 3SC coach said.(NAN)
