Lawmaker donates Islamic, deaf schools to Daura community

Daura (Katsina), Dec. 14, 2022 (NAN) A lawmaker, Alhaji Nasir Yahaya has donated an Islamic and deaf learning centre to Daura community in Katsina State.
Nasir (APC – Daura State Constituency), stated this at the formal presentation of the project to the community on Wednesday in Daura.
He said the gesture would enhace teaching of Islamic knowledge and access to quality education to people with special needs, especially the deaf.
The legislator noted that education for the deaf would improve their communication skills and build their capacities to become productive and self-reliant.
In his remarks, Umar Dikko-Radda, the All Progressive Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate in the state, lauded the gesture.
He said: “I haven’t seen a member of the State House of Assembly who did such a good work in his constituency using his personal money”.
The governorship hopeful promised to transform the education sector, especially the special education programme, if elected.
Also speaking, Bala Musa, Chairman, Daura Local Government Council, commended the gesture, adding it would make positive impact on the lives of the people in the area.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) report that the schools located at Shadambu lowcost area of Daura were designed each with one block of two classrooms, stores and an offices. (NAN)(www.nannews.com)
