Abuja, Feb. 8, 2020 (NAN) The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted reduction in horizontal visibility over most parts of the country with thick dust haze expected over the northern region.

The NiMet’s waether outlook released on Saturday in Abuja further predicted dust haze condition in Central region with horizontal visibility range of 2km to 5km within the period of forecast.

“For northern states, thick dust haze condition is expected over the region within forecast period with day and night temperatures of 30 degree Celsius to 35 degree Celsius and 11degree Celsius to 19 degree Celsius.

“For central states, dust haze condition is anticipated over the region with horizontal visibility of 2km to 5km and localized visibility of less than 1000m within the forecast period.

“Day and night temperatures of the region are expected to be from 28 degree Celsius to 36 degree Celsiue and form 11 degree Celsius to 23 degree Celsius respectively,” it said.

According to NiMet moderate dust haze condition is expected over southern states inland cities with localized visibility of less than 1000m throughout forecast period while haziness is anticipated over coastal belt throughout forecast period.

It envisaged day and night temperatures of the region to be 30 degree Celsius to
39 degree Celsius and 16 degree Celsius to 24 degree Celsius respectively. (NAN)

Abuja, Feb. 5, 2020 (NAN) Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted sunny and hazy conditions over northern and central regions.

It further predicted hazy condition over inland part with partly cloudy to cloudiness over coastal cities within forecast period.

“For northan states, sunny and hazy conditions are expected over the region throughout the forecast period.

“Day and night temperatures are expected to be from 32 degree Celsius to 33
degree Celcius and from 10 degree Celsius to 16 degree Celsius respectively, ” it said.

NiMet envisaged sunny and hazy conditions over central states throughout the forecast period with day and night temperatures from 31 degree Celsius to 35 degree Celsius; 13 degree Celsius and 22 degree Celsius respectively.

According to the agency, hazy condition is expected over inland cities of
southern states with partly cloudy condition over coastal region during morning hours and cloudy condition later in afternoon/evening hours.

”Day and night temperatures are expected to be from 34 degree Celsius to 36 degree Celsius and from 12 degree Celsius to 24 degree Celsius respectively,” it said.(NAN)

Abuja, May 11, 2019 (NAN) The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted cloudy weather conditions with prospects of widespread thunderstorm activities over most parts of the country on Sunday.

NiMet’s Weather Outlook on Saturday, in Abuja, predicted cloudy morning over the central states with thunderstorms over Mambilla axis.

It also predicted thunderstorms activities over the high ground areas of Abuja, Lafia, Jos, Southern Kaduna and Niger state with day and night temperatures of 29 to 35 and 19 to 24 degrees Celsius.

The agency predicted that Northern States would experience partly cloudy to cloudy morning and thunderstorms activities over Bauchi, Maiduguri, Potiskum, Yola and Gombe.

This will be in the afternoon and evening with day and night temperatures of 35 to 43 and 23 to 28 degrees Celsius.

According to NiMet, Southern states will experience cloudy morning over parts of the inland and the coastal axis with thunderstorms activities over Enugu, Ebonyi, Owerri, Calabar, Portharcourt, Eket and Uyo axis.

“Widespread thunderstorms activities are likely over most places in the inland cities and the coastal region during the afternoon into evening hours with day and night temperatures of 30 to 35 and 20 to 25 degrees Celsius.

“There are prospect of thunderstorms activities over the northern and central states with chances of widespread thunderstorms activities over the southern states in the next 24 hours,” NiMet predicted. (NAN)

Abuja, May 1, 2019 (NAN) The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted cloudy, rainy and sunny weather conditions with prospects of widespread thunderstorms over most parts of the country on Thursday.

NiMet’s Weather Outlook on Wednesday in Abuja predicted cloudy conditions over the central states with possibilities of thunder without rain over Lafia, Abuja and Makurdi in the morning hours.

It also predicted thunderstorms over Mambila Plateau, Makurdi, Lokoja and Southern parts of Kaduna later in the day with day and night temperatures of 31 to 41 and 18 to 30 degrees Celsius.

The agency predicted that Northern States would experience partly cloudy to sunny morning and afternoon and evening thunderstorms over Yelwa with day and night temperatures of 37 to 43 and 28 to 29 degrees Celsius.

According to NiMet, Southern states will experience cloudy morning and widespread thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening period with day and night temperatures of 32 to 36 and 23 to 26 degrees Celsius.

“Partly cloudy to sunny conditions are likely over the northern parts of the country.

“However, there are possibilities of widespread thunderstorms over parts of the central and southern states in the next 24 hours,” NiMet predicted. (NAN)

NiMet’s Weather Outlook on Sunday in Abuja predicted partly cloudy to cloudy conditions with day and night temperatures of 35 to 37 and 19 to 23 degrees Celsius.
It also predicted chances of localised thundery activities over Mambilla plateau, Lokoja, Makurdi, Jalingo and Bida in the afternoon and evening period.
The agency also predicted that Northern States would experience sunny and hazy conditions with day and night temperatures of 35 to 39 and 19 to 20 degrees Celsius.
According to NiMet, Southern States will experience cloudy morning and localised thunderstorms over Benin, Calabar, Warri and Port Harcourt with day and night temperatures of 34 to 37 and 20 to 25 degrees Celsius.
“Sunny conditions are expected to prevail over the north while partly cloudy to cloudy conditions over the central states.

NiMet’s Weather Outlook on Tuesday in Abuja predicted dust haze condition with visibility range of two to five kilometres over the central cities.
It also predicted that the region would experience day and night temperatures in the ranges of 31 to 37 and 16 to 21 degrees Celsius, respectively.
The agency predicted that Northern States would experience dust haze condition with visibility range of two to five kilometres.
It further predicted localised visibility of 1000m or less with day and night temperature values of 29 to 36 and 13 to 23 degrees Celsius, respectively.
According to NiMet, Southern States will experience hazy condition is envisaged over some places within the inland cities.
“Early morning mist and fog is probable over the coastal cities with prospects of localised thunderstorms over some coastal cities later in the day with day and night temperatures of 33 to 38 and 20 to 26 degrees Celsius.
“Presently, there is dust over the source region and in the country.
“Dust haze condition is still expected over the north and the central cities with chances of localised thunderstorms over the coastal cities within the next 24 hours,” NiMet predicted. (NAN)

NiMet’s Weather Outlook on Tuesday in Abuja predicted dust haze condition with visibility range of two to five kilometres over the central states during the forecast period.
It added that localised visibility of less than or equal to 1000m was anticipated over the region during the forecast period with day and night temperatures of 27 to 34 and 10 to 19 degrees Celsius, respectively.
The agency predicted that the Northern States would experience thick dust haze conditions over most parts throughout the forecast period with day and night temperatures of 25 to 30 and 11 to 16 degrees Celsius, respectively.
According to NiMet, Southern States will experience dust haze condition with visibility range of two to five kilometres over the entire region during the forecast period.
“Localised visibility of less than or equal to 1000m is anticipated over the region during the forecast period with day and night temperatures of 32 to 36 and 20 to 24 degrees Celsius, respectively.

NiMet’s Weather Outlook on Saturday in Abuja predicted partly cloudy to sunny condition over the central cities throughout the forecast period.
It added that the Central cities would have day and night temperatures in the range of 29 to 36 and 12 to 26 degrees Celsius, respectively.
The agency predicted that the Northern States would experience sunny and hazy conditions throughout the forecast period with day and night temperatures of 31 to 37 and 10 to 21 degrees Celsius, respectively.
According to NiMet, Southern States will experience partly cloudy to cloudy conditions are expected in the morning with prospects of scattered thunderstorms over Oshogbo, Ibadan, Akure, Eket and Calabar.
“Scattered thunderstorms are probable over south-east inland like Owerri, Awka, Enugu, Umuahia and the entire coastal regions in the afternoon and evening hours with day and night temperatures of 32 to 35 and 20 to 26 degrees Celsius, respectively.

NiMet’s Weather Outlook on Sunday in Abuja predicted partly cloudy to sunny conditions over the central cities in the morning.

It added that sunny conditions were anticipated over the region later in the afternoon and evening with day and night temperatures of 27 to 36 and 12 to 24 degrees Celsius, respectively.

The agency predicted that the Northern States would experience sunny conditions throughout the forecast period with day and night temperatures of 33 to 38 and 10 to 20 degrees Celsius, respectively.

According to NiMet, Southern States will experience partly cloudy to cloudy conditions with chances of scattered thunderstorm over Calabar, Eket and Uyo in the morning.

“Partly cloudy conditions are likely over the inland with prospects of scattered thunderstorms over Lagos, Portharcourt and Calabar during the afternoon and evening hours with day and night temperatures of 31 to 34 and 20 to 24 degrees Celsius, respectively.

It added that the region would have day and night temperatures in the ranges of 28 to 33 and 16 to 23 degrees Celsius, respectively.
